GIVE EVERY ENTRY A POSITION
A shuffled order for the whole list
Randomize a speaking order, a task list, a game queue, or a set of choices. This list randomizer returns every supplied entry exactly once in a new order. It keeps duplicate entries and the original list remains in the editor.
1. Enter the items
Paste one entry per line or a column from a spreadsheet. Leading and trailing spaces and empty lines are removed.
2. Shuffle the list
Choose Shuffle list to see the numbered order. Each shuffle starts from the entries currently in the editor.
3. Copy or download
Copy the full numbered result or save it as a text file. Need groups instead? Use the random team generator. To choose one entry, use the name picker wheel.
Example: A list of Alex, Sam, Sam and Casey always produces four output entries, with Sam appearing twice. The duplicate entries are separate slots even though their displayed text is identical.
List randomizer questions
Are duplicate entries kept?
Yes. The randomizer preserves each occurrence. It does not merge identical names or remove repeated choices.
Can a shuffle return the original order?
Yes. The original order is one valid permutation, and two shuffles can produce the same result. A random shuffle does not force every item to move.
How is the order created?
The tool uses a Fisher–Yates shuffle and browser-generated random values. At each step it swaps an entry with a randomly chosen remaining position.
What does the text download contain?
The whole numbered result, one entry per line, in a UTF-8 .txt file. Unicode names are preserved. It is not a CSV file or a public sharing link.
Will changing tools erase my input?
Switching between the three tools keeps the current list. Leaving for a guide or reloading discards an unsaved list. Enable Save list on this device if you want to keep it across visits.
